Lithuanian rally championship returns to Ukmergė after a long break
With the “Jusema Rally Ukmergė 2025”, which will take place on July 11 and 12, Ukmergė is returning to the map of the Lithuanian Rally Championship after a 22-year break. The well-known and experienced team “GSR Motorsport”, together with its main partner “Jusema”, is preparing a very high-level competition that will not disappoint either the crews or the spectators.
Finally, the Lithuanian Rally Championship (LARČ) returns to Ukmergė. Although the fastest Lithuanian rally racers have occasionally visited the Ukmergė district, the last time city was the center of a LARČ event in 2003, when the “Rally Aukštaitija” was held here. Recently, rallying revived in Ukmergė when one of the Lithuanian Mini Rally Championship event was held here, and active pre-event testing has been going on in recent year. The city also became and still is famous for racers who come from here and still live here, such as Evaldas Čirba, Deividas Gezevičius, Aurimas and Markas Buteikis. The patron of this rally, Dovydas Ketvirtis, is also based in Ukmergė, developing his business and supporting local motorsport initiatives. The time has finally come for this city to move forward and once again become a center of attraction where the fastest Lithuanian rally drivers meet.
The Ukmergė district is full of legendary roads with a rich rally history, joined by the Anykščiai district, which is also rich in special stages. The geography of the two districts makes it possible to gather enough challenges for two days, during which the participants have to cover about 110 sporting kilometers. The actual competition with all the formalities will last three days – on July 10th, the participants will go through administrative commission, scrutineering and reece. The sporting part will begin on Friday, July 11th, with the shakedown, after which the official start of the rally will take place. On Friday, the participants will tackle around 30 kilometers of speed stages. On Saturday, July 12th, the rally continues and the participants will tackle around 80 kilometers of speed stages. Spectators will have the opportunity to enjoy the speed of the rally cars and the skill of the crews, as the rally route also passes through the “Versmė” “autocross track in Ukmergė, which has suitable infrastructure for observing the competition.
Preliminary program:
• July 10th – Administrative commission, scrutineering and reece
• July 11th – Shakedown, opening ceremony of the competition and 30 kilometers of special stages
• July 12th – 80 kilometers speed stages, rally finish together with awards ceremony and festive concert
The Lithuanian Rally Championship round will be held in Ukmergė by the “GSR Motorsport” racing team, which is well-known in Lithuania and around the world and competes in both classic rallying and circuit racing. The “GSR Motorsport” team has joined forces with fellow racer and businessman Dovydas Ketvirtis, under whose leadership “Jusema” has become the title partner of the rally held in Ukmergė. This is a completely new challenge and preparation is very responsible and intensive for the event. Organizing a new top competition from scratch is not a piece of cake, but together with some people with a lot of experience in organizing competitions and the support of Ukmergė municipality, this challenge is accepted with a very good mood.
The service park and the rally center for the participants of the “Jusema Rally Ukmergė” will be located in the heart of Ukmergė, on Kaunas Street near the House of Culture and the Municipality. All of this will be easily accessible for the guests of the event, especially since there will always be something going on from the ceremonial opening of the competition to the finish line, after which an impressive festive concert awaits.
