Although the sporting part of the third round of the Lithuanian Rally Championship only starts on Friday and will last until Saturday evening, Thursday was a very early and busy day for the competitors. Before the start of the competition, they had to complete administrative, scrutineering and do the reece of the the special stages, which took until late in the evening.

Since early Thursday morning, the crews had been bustling around the Ukmergė Cultural Centre, where the “Jusema Rally Ukmergė 2025” HQ was located. They were welcomed by the staff of the administrative commission, who checked the teams’ documents and issued all the attributes necessary for the race – roadbooks, GPS tracking systems, stickers for sports and service cars, as well as gifts from partners. Despite the early morning, the participants were in high spirits – there was a lot of laughter, interesting conversations and cheerful photos were taken in the rally centre.

After completing the administrative formalities, the participants made their way to the special stages around Ukmerge and Anykščiai. They had to visit no less than ten different road sections. As this is a completely new rally and the roads in this region have not been used for rally of this level for a long time, it is extremely important for the drivers to take in the special stages very carefully. According to the road rules, they are only allowed to pass each section twice, so the accuracy of the reece and confidence will be crucial to the crews’ speed during the race. To make matters worse, it rained for the second day in a row, filling the gravel roads with puddles and softening the road surface considerably. The crews interviewed were delighted with the new, unseen special stages and promised that there will be a lot of challenges during the weekend.

While the crews drove hundreds of kilometres around Ukmergė during the reece, their technicians took the sports cars to the scrutineering. To ensure that the competition between the racers is as even as possible and that the talent of the crews comes to the fore, each car must fulfil the requirements of a specific class. At the scrutineering, these requirements are checked and at the same time, the same attention is paid to the safety equipment of the cars. Only after inspection and approval by the head scrutineer is the crew allowed to compete.

The competition will be officially opened on Friday 11 July at 13:00 in Ukmerge Castle Park, and at 14:00 the participants will set off on the special stages. The race ends on Saturday, 12 July, at 9.30 pm with a grand prize-giving ceremony. Immediately after the event, there will be a free concert by the band Requiem.
